10 Worst Ever Premier League Misses

4. Cristiano Ronaldo (Vs Sheffield United, 2006)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK0IObJ-Wt0 Sometimes, even the best players in the world have a bad day at the office. Okay, Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't quite the best player in the world back in 2006, but considering he went on to be crowned Ballon d'Or winner twice throughout his career, you can take our meaning. Here we see the future Real Madrid star commit a blunder that wouldn't have made him worth £80 at the time, let alone £80 million. Ronaldo missed three gilt edged chances in total during this game against Sheffield United; first seeing the ball hit his body in front of the goal, before heading against the crossbar. But the worse of the lot was when he screwed the ball over the bar from just three yards out. After being found in the middle of the penalty area by Ryan Giggs in acres of space, all Ron had to do was tuck the ball in the back of the net. But the ball instead bounced up off the top of his foot and ballooned harmlessly over the bar. This wasn't a TOTAL disaster however as Wayne Rooney grabbed a brace in this fixture to give United a 2-1 victory.
