10 Worst Ever Premier League Misses

5. Park Ji-Sung (vs Middlesbrough, 2008)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPRvUKXNXFA Park Ji-Sung was punished by Sir Alex Ferguson's frostiest of frosty glares after this calamity. In a December 2008 Premier League clash against Middlesbrough, the South Korean was presented with an early Christmas present as Michael Carrick put the ball on a plate for Park to convert the simplest of chances. United were already 1-0 up at the time thanks to a goal from Dimitar Berbatov, and had a priceless opportunity to put the game to bed as Carrick found his teammate with a pinpoint pass that cut Boro's defence to ribbons (sorry, we'll stop with the Christmas analogies). Instead, Park somehow contrived to blaze over the bar. We like this video not only for Park's howler, but also for the jolly United fan's reaction afterwards. He might have been able to see the funny side of things, but Ferguson took a much dimmer view of the incident as he shot Park a glance as if to say, "how did you miss THAT?" Coincidentally, how DID he miss that?
