First, some context. West Brom were trailing 2-1 at the time, and this howler came in the 90th minute. With the goal wide open, and the chance to snatch his side a last-gasp equaliser, the Nigerian lobbed the ball over the bar from one yard out - something his manager at-the-time Bryan Robson said was "almost impossible" Albion's boss was captured on camera immediately after the blunder mouthing "how did he miss that" and, a decade on, we're still asking the same question. At the time, Kanu's dreadful sitter was described as the worst of the Premier League era, but in the ten years that have passed, he was outdone by an even worse miss than that, while we also feel a more... historic effort is worthier of a higher place on our list.
