Born in October 1998, 19-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the World Cup's youngest players, but he won't be going into this tournament with any jitters, having enjoyed a remarkable season with Liverpool in which helped the club make it all the way to the Champions League final.

Even though Liverpool lost the final, Alexander-Arnold was one of their brightest performers, having been given the unenviable task of attempting to mark Cristiano Ronaldo out of the game. Earlier in Liverpool's Champions League run, he successfully nullified the threat of Man City's German winger, Leroy Sané, and has consistently proven himself as a very solid defensive full-back.

He hasn't actually made his England debut yet, but there's no better way to make your first appearance than at a World Cup. Blessed with maturity and composure far beyond his tender age, Alexander-Arnold is England's third-choice right back behind Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier, but if Gareth Southgate plays Walker in the centre of defence, as he has done before, Alexander-Arnold could get some important minutes under his belt this summer.
