There's a good chance that Roy Keane is the most hateful man in football: he probably gets up in the morning, punches the cat and stands in his slippers calling all of his furniture a "tw*t" before he's even had breakfast, if his books are anything to go by. Those books were full of the usual nuggets of information from the now Aston Villa assistant manager, including calling Newcastle fans deluded and arrogant (kettle, pot) and saying for some reason that he hated Rob Lee (how could anyone?!), and he reserved special praise for Shearer. Having established in his career that he disliked Shearer - even being sent off for taking a swing at him (after petulantly throwing the ball at him) - Keane admitted in his book that Shearer was on the hit-list of players Keane kept in the back of his mind as potential targets of violence, along with Lee and David Batty:
"All these players were in the back of my mind: If I get a chance Im going to fucking hit you, of course I am."
