11 Players Who Stole A Living From Celtic

2. Morten Rasmussen

Signed From: Brondby Fee: £1.8 million Like Mo Bangura, Morten Rasmussen had attracted the interest of Celtic thanks to an impressive goal-scoring record in Scandinavia, though this time it was in his native Denmark. During spells as AGF and then Brondby, Rasmussen had scored 72 goals in 187 games, including an impressive run of 12 goals in 15 games at the start of the 2010 season. That January, Tony Mowbray decided to waste a bit more of Celtic's money, by paying close to £2m for the Dane, who expressed himself delighted at the big opportunity. Unfortunately for Celtic, Rasmussen had taken the nickname Duncan in Denmark due to an apparent resemblance to Duncan Ferguson, but dropped it when he came to Celtic. Despite having been impressed by his Brondby scoring rate, Mowbray quickly changed his mind, benching Rasmussen before Neil Lennon decided he also wasn't good enough and sent him out on loan before releasing him. Another couple of millions well spent.
