Even ignoring the fact that he was comically unsuited to the Galactico label, he had been a great player for Everton, and he would surely make a great addition to Celtic's squad. Sadly, Gravesen left something in Spain when he signed for Celtic in August 2006 for £2m. He looked a shadow of the player who had bossed the midfield for Everton, and went horribly missing in way too many games, aside from scoring in an Old Firm game and a hat-trick against St Mirren. Unfortunately, accusations of a bad attitude further blighted his time in Scotland, as Gravesen was kicked out of the first team in favour of Evander Sno and was then publicly criticised by Gordon Strachan for not trying harder to get his place back.
