11 Players Who Stole A Living From Celtic

10. Jiri Jarosik

Signed From: Chelsea Fee: £2 million Despite the fact that Czech international Jarosik had looked badly out of his depth at Chelsea - as well as at Birmingham on loan - in June 2006 Gordon Strachan followed his trend of signing European midfielders by snapping him up for a cool £2m. That might not seen a massive fee in terms of Chelsea, but to Celtic, it was a lot, considering the lack of impact the Czech had at the club over eighteen mostly dour months. A raft of midfield options available to Strachan - including the all too relied upon Evander Sno - meant that competition was fierce for a starting position, and though Jarosik managed 33 appearances for the Bhoys, had he looked remotely interested as a sub, he might have had more. He did make some notable impressions in the Champions League, winning both the free kicks for Shunsuke Nakamura to scor against Man Utd and helping the team through to the last 16, but it was all too little, and further midfield signings pushed him further down the pecking order. He left after an uninspiring period for Russia.
