11 Players That Represented Both Man Utd And Newcastle
7. Danny Simpson
A product of the Manchester United youth academy, the full back did manage to break into the Red Devils' first team as he would make a grand total of eight appearances over five years as a registered senior team member. Loan spells at Royal Antwerp, Sunderland, Ipswich Town and then Blackburn Rovers caught the attention of Chris Hughton, who signed the then 23-year-old on a loan deal of his own. The move was made permanent half way through United's Championship winning campaign. The former Tulisa lover made himself a regular as Newcastle stabilised in the Barclays Premier League before finishing fifth in 2012. Simpson made 137 appearances in the black and white, scoring two goals before the arrival of the far superior Mathieu Debuchy saw his first team opportunities limited. Despite Newcastle offering him a vastly improved contract, Danny decided to let his deal run down and left of Queens Park Rangers on a free in 2013. He's currently a bench warmer at Leicester City, having joined The Foxes for an undisclosed fee last summer.
