Forming an almost telepathic partnership with John Toshack at the apex of Bill Shankly's immortal side, the Yorkshire-born attacker helped to deliver seven trophies in his six years at Anfield - the last of those being the European Cup in his final season on Merseyside. A Brut-soaked Keegan had served notice of his intention to leave Liverpool for German side Hamburg prior to the 1976/77 campaign and experienced a dip in popularity as a result. But in typical KK fashion he regained the affections of the Reds faithful with an inspiring performance in the '77 final against Borussia Monchengladbach and ended a 13-year wait for European Cup glory.
