Teddy Sheringham is a player with a famously long, successful and varied career in the game. A London boy, born and bred, it was with Tottenham Hotspur that he would complete two successful spells in the top flight of English football.

Sheringham's first spell between 1992 and 1997 would see him netting an impressive 76 goals in 166 games. It was at this point that Alex Ferguson came calling and he's not the kind of man it's easy to say no to.

Sheringham, who was already past thirty when he signed for Manchester United, went on to have the most successful period of his career under the Scot. At United he won three league titles, the FA Cup and even the Champions League. He would also win the PFA Players' Player of the Year and make the PFA Premier League Team of the year for the 2000-01 season.

Though he later proved he still had a lot to give, he was sold back to Spurs that summer and managed another 70 appearances and 22 goals even in his mid-thirties before heading on to Portsmouth in 2003.
