15 Highest Paid Players In The Premier League

11. Mesut Ozil - £150,000-a-week

Alexis Sanchez is Arsenal's joint-highest earner alongside Mesut Ozil, who is also picking up £150,000-a-week, according to the Guardian. Ozil became the third-most expensive signing in British football history when he moved from Real Madrid for £42.5 million last summer, behind only Carlos Tevez, (Manchester City £45m) and Fernando Torres (Chelsea £50m). The £150,000-a-week Ozil is picking up is still only considered a "basic salary" however it has bonuses on top which means the Germany World Cup winner could pick up a lot more in his weekly wage packet dependent on performances. After a topsy-turvy debut campaign at Emirates Stadium however, the ex-Madrid man may only have picked up his original £150k. Ozil struggled in his maiden campaign in England and looked a little lost at times as he struggled to adjust to the physicality of the Premier League, playing just 14 full games for Arsene Wenger's side and managing just five goals. He will be hoping for a more successful second season as he looks to justify his enormous price tag and wages.
