Diego Costa wasn't Chelsea's only big-money recruit this summer. Along with shelling out on the Atletico Madrid striker, the Blues also raided Spain for another star - Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas. Costa may be a little jealous of his new teammate however because Fabregas is earning an extra £6k in his weekly salary, with reports suggesting he is picking up £156,000-a-week. To be fair, that's pretty reasonable, considering the ex-Arsenal player has proven Premier League experience, Fabregas spent eight years at Arsenal between 2003-11, and excelled in what turned out to be the first of two spells in England, scoring 57 goals and, perhaps more impressively, providing 98 assists. Between 200607 and 201011, the Spain midfielder created the most chances in the top-division leagues of England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France to earn himself a reputation as the 'assist king'. And he's already started picking up where he left off by creating two of Chelsea's three goals in their 3-1 win over newly promoted Burnley on the Premier League's opening weekend. If the former Arsenal hero can come anywhere near to providing the same number of assists and goals in the Blue of Chelsea, he will be money well spent.
