7. Nikica Jelavic
Media Image LtdNow, this was a very interesting transfer saga, and not one that Celtic fans will enjoy reliving too much. News came about in January 2010 that Celtic were very closely monitoring Rapid Vienna's Nikica Jelavic who was enduring a lot of tension with the club's board as they failed to pay him wages on a couple of occasions, and he eventually came out to say he wanted a move to Glasgow. This gave the Jelavic rumours complete justification, and it seemed that the only obstacle now was a transfer fee. Celtic had a bid of £2.5 million knocked back in the January transfer window, and lost their chance to take him in mid-season. But the rumours persisted, Jelavic's reputation was rising as he continued to perform well in Austria. And what do you know? In the summer of 2010, there he was at Glasgow Airport. He signed for Rangers.
