6. Kyle Lafferty
Lynne Cameron/PA Archive/Press Association ImagesLike the case of Jelavic, Kyle Lafferty was another player to snub Celtic in favour of Rangers, although unlike Jelavic, most Hoops fans are probably very glad fate took its course. The former Burnley player actually responded to rumours of Celtic's interest very positively, saying that although he grew up a Rangers fan he would relish a move to Parkhead. Competition was hot for signings between the Glasgow clubs, though, and it seemed that every player Celtic wanted to sign, Rangers would try and get in there before us. After all, players are rumoured as Celtic targets for good reasons, so it was better for Rangers if they got them rather than us. After his move to Rangers, Lafferty became a bit of a target of abuse from the Celtic fans, to which Kyle did not respond in the same positive manner. Lafferty played up to his hate figure status, and the longer he spent at Ibrox, the more abuse he received. He seemed to enjoy it a little bit, annoyingly. It was made bearable by the fact that he wasn't that good.
