15 Worst Ever Arsenal Premier League Signings

11. Amaury Bischoff

What is there to say about Amaury Bischoff? The Portuguese midfielder was plucked from the relative obscurity of Werder Bremen reserves by Arsene Wenger in 2008, despite only making one appearance for the German club's first team. Although the midfielder was said to be talented he had an awful injury record, which incidentally made him fit right in at Arsenal as he had plenty of friends to join him in the physio room. At the time of his signing, Wenger stated that it was a gamble on talent due to his injury record and it was a gamble that failed spectacularly. Bischoff only made four appearances for the club, with his one and only Premier league outing coming as a replacement for Theo Walcott in the 3-0 win away to Portsmouth. He was released at the end of the season, having spent most of it injured and the rest showing how he was completely incapable of playing for Arsenal. The much talked about potential never reared its head and he has disappeared back into obscurity. Since leaving the Gunners, Bischoff has played for such powerhouses as Academica de Coimbra and Desportivo das Aves in Portugal before moving to German third division side SC Preuben Munster in 2012 where he has gone on to make 80 appearances, scoring 20 goals.
