Unfortunately for Newcastle, Jamie Vardy's England debut against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin is likely to have pushed his price up by a few million quid, but the Magpies could still tempt the tireless forward away from Leicester City this summer. Vardy's rapid rise from non-league football to the Three Lions squad has been well documented in recent months - but it is his ability to force opposition defences into mistakes due to his tireless tracking and endless determination that should prick Newcastle's interest. Five league goals may not seem an awful lot for a striker, but add to that the seven assists and take into consideration the important times at which he netted and it becomes clear that the 28-year-old was a leading inspiration behind the Foxes' remarkable escape from relegation last season.
