8. Ibrox Stadium's Main Stand Is A Listed Building
The mosaic mural that stands proud above the main entrance to Ibrox Stadium is a treasured design in Scottish culture. Simply emblazoned with the name, 'Rangers F.C.', the main stand is a listed building by Glasgow City Council, which means it is protected by law and prevented from being removed as a result. It's an intimidating sight, Ibrox Stadium looks there to stay, which contrasts heavily with the Meccano-like feel to Celtic Park. Inside, Celtic's ground looks massive, but there's not quite the same atmosphere about the place as there is surrounding Ibrox. The old gates at the home of Rangers are beautifully-ornate, and it seems entrenched in history. Celtic's ground, whilst impressive, is more modern, but doesn't really give a sense of the history around that club. Cheerfully for Rangers fans, Ibrox does, and whilst it looks modern inside, the outside of the stadium - along with the famous marble staircase and untouched trophy room - is resplendent. It's not a surprise that the Main Stand is listed, it's surely an attraction in Glasgow.
