3 Italian Clubs Ready To Fight For European Glory Again

2. Napoli

Last season's Serie A runners up started match day 1 with a bang. A brilliant 2-1 win over Dortmund has provided Rafa Benitez's side with the perfect start. Drawn alongside Arsenal, Dortmund and Marseille in the so called 'group of death', it was pivotal that Napoli got off to a flying start. The Italians did not disappoint. Goals from new signing Gonzalo Higuain and local star Lorenzo Insigne led to a memorable night in Naples, and one that will have no doubt buoyed Benitez's men. It has been a big summer for the team from the South of Italy. The sale of top scorer Edinson Cavani to PSG provided Rafa Benitez with extensive funds to spend on his squad. In came Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callejon, Raul Albiol, Dries Mertens and Pepe Reina, to add to an already impressive squad. Star man Marek Hamsik has started the season in scintillating form, finding the net 4 times in just 3 league games so far. The Slovakian will be the key to Napoli's success this year, with much of the play revolving around him. Benitez's team have the chance to be dark horses this season. The Stadio San Paolo is an extremely difficult place to go, as the 60,000 Neapolitans can create one of the most intimidating atmospheres in world football. Like Juventus, Napoli are one to look out for.
