5 Heroes (And 5 Villains) From Club Atlas 2-1 Newcastle
2. Jamaal Lascelles
Jamaal Lascelles will hopefully not experience any worse nights in a Newcastle jersey going forward - though, on the evidence of just about every single other centre-back to play for the club in the past 25 years, that is highly unlikely to be the case... Caught hopelessly flatfooted in the 10th minute, Lascelles lunged in with a wild and late challenge to bring down Gonzalo Bergessio and give away a silly penalty. The Argentine forward duly dispatched the spot-kick, capitalising on Lascelles' still obvious rawness and naivety in defence. Lascelles is still only 21 years of age and he will improve in time - he has all the attributes to succeed in that he is huge, powerful and pretty quick - but it is now clear why he was not always a Nottingham Forest regular last season. A senior defensive reinforcement to help nurse him going forward is a must.
