If sentiment played a part in his cameo role during Newcastle's last game at St. James' Park, the same can't really be said now. Jonas has moved back into the team as if he's the steady piece of furniture that was left and forgotten about in the attic but is surprisingly functional and trustworthy when dusted off. Replacing the inept Vurnon Anita for the last 20 minutes of the game, the Argentian never put a foot wrong... constantly picking his man out with precision (and not always taking the easy pass while doing so) and although he still seems a little hesitant in his own ability at first to run with the ball, once he gets going he's still hard to read which side of the defender he will take it around and manages to take the Magpies from defence to attack like no-one else. If Carver feels he's fit enough in two weeks time, his name deserves to be on the team sheet on merit over Anita and Gouffran for the game against Sunderland.
