2. Arjen Robben - Won A Cabinet Of Trophies At Bayern
Arjen Robben is perhaps one of the best examples of a player flourishing after leaving Chelsea. Robben arrived at Stamford Bridge from PSV in 2004 but his time at the club was rocked by a series of injuries, and had to undergo an operation on his knee at the end of March 2007. His stay in west London was interspersed with similar set-backs and as such the midfielder was only able to make 67 Premier League appearances during his three-season spell at SW6. Despite his patchy injury record, however, Spanish giants Real Madrid came in for Robben in 2007 and took him to the Santiago Bernabeu, where he went on to win La Liga and the Supercopa de Espana in 2008, scoring 11 goals in 50 appearances during a two-season stay in Madrid before going on to join Bayern Munich, where he enjoyed yet more success. At Bayern, Robben established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe and has won a plethora of trophies, including three Bundesliga titles and the Champions League, while he has twice finished a runner-up in the latter of those competitions with Munich. The Netherlands star has earned a series of accolades since leaving Chelsea, including being named in the UEFA Team of the Year in 2011 and placing fourth in last year's UEFA Best Player in Europe Awards. He has scored 56 league goals in 106 league appearances for Bayern and it's sometimes easy to forget that he used to play for the Blues.
