2. Thomas Muller
Martin Rickett/PA Archive/Press Association ImagesThomas Muller is quickly developing into a World Cup phenomenon. Having won the Golden Boot at the last tournament four years ago, the Germany international has already found the net four times in as many matches in Brazil. Earlier on in the summer,
Muller was supposedly a transfer target for Manchester United. However, despite
Louis van Gaal being confident of securing the 24-year-olds services, a move has failed to materialise and the
Bayern Munich man has now signed a new contract. While this may make a move to Liverpool seem difficult, we cannot forget the money Brendan Rodgers will have at his disposal should Luis Suarez leave Anfield.
Some media outlets are reporting that £80 million could be the fee required to sign the Uruguayan, more than enough ammunition for the Reds to launch a bid for Muller. As a replacement for Suarez, Muller would provide Liverpool with an alternative. Capable of playing up front, out wide or behind the striker, the German could seriously bolster the Reds attacking options. Also, Mullers goalscoring prowess is another attractive component of his game. Having scored over 20 goals in both of the last two season, his efforts would go some way to easing the loss of Suarez.
