5 Real Madrid Players Bound For The Premier League

3. Sami Khedira

Germany's dynamic holding midfielder Sami Khedira could follow compatriot Ozil to the Premier League in January as he feels scapegoated in Madrid and is a confessed disciple of Mourinho. Chelsea do not have a clear run at getting the 26-year-old, however. Manchester United will rival the Blues to land a player that could cost as much as £40 million. Much like in attack, competition for the two or three Real midfield berths is fierce. To Alonso, Casemiro, Illarramendi and Khedira you can Luka Modric. Ancelotti cannot keep all five of them happy. United even made a last gasp bid to capture Khedira on transfer deadline day and their neighbours Manchester City could also compete for his signature. Arsenal may even be interested in reuniting Khedira and Ozil at club level. This four way dance between pre-season Premier League title favourites might make for something of a winter transfer window saga. Khedira would add extra drive to any midfield from a deep-lying berth. The Red Devils' need for extra quality in the middle of the park is the greatest, but he would walk into the Arsenal XI with Mathieu Flamini sidelined. A potential swap deal with Chelsea sending Brazilian engine room star Ramires to the Bernabeu looks tempting from a Madrid perspective.
