In the space of 12 months, Sterling has gone from being a squad player at Anfield to arguably one of the first two or three names on the team-sheet. Opposition teams are terrified of the 19-year-old, perhaps more so than other Reds player now Suarez has departed, and that will be no different with City on Monday evening. Sterling will likely be used on the right-wing- it's never easy to predict exactly how Rodgers will utilise the youngster- meaning he comes up against Kolarov. The Serbia international is a good left-back, but he is far from a great one. His main strength is going forward- he possesses one of the best left foots and final balls in Premier League without a shadow of a doubt- but defensively he can definitely be found out. The 28-year-old is far from the quickest, and Sterling's incredible burst of pace and quick feet could destroy him. Chances are he won't have an attacking player helping him out and doubling up on Sterling too. Pellegrini should certainly consider it. City have so much world-class quality throughout their squad, but left-back is an area they are lacking in. Sterling could exploit that to devastating effect.
