Barkley has thrived under the Spaniards tutelage, establishing himself as an England regular, a goalscoring threat and one of the Premier Leagues top playmakers. Former Barnsley man Stones may not be a homegrown prospect, but his development has been similarly meteoric under Martinez, taking his recent blunders out of the equation. Hopefully its just a blip and not a deliberate attempt to force a move to Chelsea. Then theres the likes of Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning, youthful defenders who Martinez has brought to the fore with success. Establishing the pair within the senior setup has given Everton more depth at the back and hinted at a time when defending might not be such a major issue for the Blues.
