3. George Weah
Arguably the greatest African player ever and the only player for his continent to be awarded World Player Of The Year. Weah achieved success in France and Italy after being signed by a certain Arsene Wenger during his time at Monaco. He also played in the Premier League, briefly, for Chelsea and Manchester City- winning the FA Cup with the London side. However, his native Liberia is still yet to feature at a World Cup and he was the stand-out star. Like many small nations have similarly encountered, one world star is not enough to carry you to the World Cup finals.
