1. Demba Ba

Club: Chelsea The media are inevitably fond of slinging the words "sensational move" and "Newcastle United" together, so many fans will have already dismissed the idea of the Magpies ever bringing back Chelsea's alienated Senegalese striker Demba Ba as pure headline-baiting garbage. But there might just be something in this one. Newcastle need at least two new strikers - unless Yoann Gouffran is set to move more centrally - and importantly they need to add proven strikers to the limited talent pool of Ayoze Perez (an unknown quality), Adam Campbell (enthusiastic, but likely to head out on loan again) and Papiss Cisse (offside), and Demba Ba's situation at Chelsea makes him look like an ideal solution. He scored an impressive 29 goals in 54 games at Newcastle, despite a mooted new injury, and remains a fan favourite despite the manner of his departure to Chelsea - which fits Pardew's agenda to bring some enthusiasm back to the fan base. Everton are apparently already in talks for a loan move, but Newcastle are in a stronger financial position, and should easily be able to outbid the Toffees, even if the move ends up being a temporary one (though hopefully it would be a "with a view..." sort of deal, given the frustration that met Loic Remy's loan last season). Expect to hear more of this one. Which of these deals would you most like to see go through? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
