6 Things Man Utd Fans Need To Know About Marcos Rojo

4. He's Got Skills

Marcos Rojo is not your everyday, run-of-the-mill centre-back. Anyone who kept a close eye on his performances at this summer's World Cup will tell you he has a touch of flair to him. Against the Netherlands in the semi-finals, Rojo NUTMEGGED Dutch master Arjen Robben, while against Bosnia in the group stages he performed a 'Rabona', in which he flicked the ball away using the heel of his trailing left foot. Rojo has even been known to get in on the goal-scoring action in the past. He scored four times from 25 Primeira Liga appearances at Sporting Lisbon last season, and has also banged in the occasional screamer, including this one for Estudiantes de La Plata, the local side who he joined at the age of just 10. His goal-scoring abilities put him in a similar mould to former Red Devil Patrice Evra, who would contribute to both defence and attack, while his attacking instincts would appear to make him an ideal signing under Louis van Gaal, considering United's new Dutch manager favours attacking wing-backs.
