5. Jurgen Klinsmann

Main Position: Striker. Time With Spurs: 1994-1995, 1997-1998. German superstar striker Jurgen Klinsmann had two spells with Spurs - the second on loan - and his goals in both spells were vital. In his first spell, having signed from French giants Monaco, he scored on his debut against Sheffield Wednesday and instantly became a Spurs legend with his self-depricating diving celebration. He went on to score 20 league goals (29 in total for the season) and won the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year. Over 150,000 Spurs shirts with Klinsmann's name on were sold as he wrote himself in to the Lilywhites' history books. He moved to Bayern Munich following his first stint at Spurs, before joining Italian Serie A outfit Sampdoria - the club whom loaned him to Spurs for his second stint at White Hart Lane. His return was widely celebrated and his goals undoubtedly kept Spurs in the Premier League that season.
