7 Newcastle Players Who Deserve A Chance To Help The Magpies Survive

3. Sammy Ameobi

Sammy Ameobi may have made 21 Premier League appearances so far this season, but he has fallen somewhat out of favour in the last three matches. Given no game time against either Liverpool or Swansea City, the winger was hooked at half-time during the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in between. The 22-year-old's contract is set to expire in the summer and the smart money would be on him leaving St James' Park at the end of the season - but Ameobi could still have an important part to play, and if he can help keep Newcastle in the league he may get offered a new deal. Unpredictable and more-often-than-not extremely frustrating, Ameobi can provide the odd goal and assist - but more importantly he gives Newcastle much-needed pace on the break. His delivery has improved greatly in recent weeks, and if Carver can inspire a performance from Ameobi then he can offer the Magpies something different in attack.
