7 Players Who Could Save Alan Pardew's Newcastle Career
6. Ryan Taylor
With the free-kick specialist now back in the first-team picture, it's only a matter of time before Alan Pardew comes out with his usual "like a new signing" line, and though some fans might sneer at the suggestion that Taylor is a big deal, his availability is important. So far in 2014 - ever since the sale of Yohan Cabaye in fact - Newcastle have badly missed a set-piece specialist. In that time the likes of Paul Dummett, Remy Cabella, Vurnon Anita and even Cheick Tiote have been entrusted with the responsibility with limited to no success. Yes, it doesn't help that the go-to answer is to hit the ball to Mike Williamson to see the opportunity end, but with Taylor the options would surely increase. It's just a matter of where he fits into the first team.
