Tom Brady gets all the headlines for the Patriots offense and he should be because he's a bonafide NFL legend that is going to be in the Hall of Fame one day. However, he's going to need a lot of help if they are going to win this game because that Seahawks defense is not going to get exposed by him or any QB in the league. The Patriots are going to need to run LeGarrette Blount as much as they can. He's a power style running back that can wear down the Seahawks defense. It's their pass defense that is really scary. You can run on them, though. Blount rushed for 148 yards and 3 TDs vs. the Colts in the AFC Title game, but the Seahawks are a much better defense. In addition to Blount, the Pats should throw the ball to Shane Vereen because he's a weapon out of the backfield. Don't expect too many deep shots by the Pats pass game. That's not the way to produce against the Seahawks. What you have to do is be comfortable with the short passes because that is available. The good thing for the Pats is that's what they like to do on offense anyway. A veteran QB like Brady will be comfortable picking his spots and running some clock too. Seattle is 3rd in the NFL in rush defense by giving up 81.5 yards per game. In order to win, they need to be around that average number or even less because if the Pats can run the ball then the Seahawks will be in trouble.
