Somehow Yoan Gouffran has managed to rack up 30 Premier League appearances this season - despite appearing to offer almost precisely nothing in the majority of them. When he first arrived at St James' Park Gouffran offered a bit of a scoring threat and would contribute a decent number of assists - but this season he has netted just twice and has provided just one goal for his teammates. For a winger/forward that is simply unacceptable - and the Frenchman needs to offer more to the Newcastle cause. He may be industrious, but Gouffran doesn't actually seem to do anything positive or negative on the pitch - and, for a player wearing the black-and-white jersey, that simply isn't good enough.
