8 Newcastle Players Who Should Be Embarrassed To Wear The Shirt

2. Moussa Sissoko

Listed as Newcastle United's "fourth-captain", Moussa Sissoko has failed to act like it in recent weeks - and the two bookings that led to his dismissal at Liverpool (the second of which could easily have been a straight red) smacked of someone who has let petulance get the better of him. Annoyingly, they were reminiscent of the silly yellow cards he picked up in less than a minute at West Ham United in November that also led to a suspension. Often linked with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, the truth is the 28-cap French international isn't consistent enough for a top-four side - he can be unplayable on occasion, but far too often he can fail to impose himself on matches he should be dominating. Just three goals and three assists in 30 Premier League matches is not good enough for an attacking-midfielder who believes he should be playing in the Champions League - and that is precisely the reason why he won't in the near future. He owes the Magpies fans a huge last four games of the season once he returns from suspension.
