8 Times Animals Invaded Formula 1

7. Dog - India (2011)

Turkey is not F1's first dog incident. During the inaugural Indian Grand Prix in 2011, a stray dog brought out the red flag during the First Practice session until marshals managed to chase it off the track. It was an adorable but brief intervention, and the session was underway again after five minutes. It was one of a number of teething problems experienced by the circuit, a number of drivers also expressing concerns at how dusty the new track proved to be.

Sebastian Vettel was like a dog with a bone in 2011, on a relentless pursuit to his second of four world titles. His victory at the Buddh International Circuit was one of 11 wins scored by the German driver that year. Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso joined Vettel on the podium.
