9 Players Who Have Flourished Since Leaving Man Utd

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is regarded by many as the best player on the planet right now. He has won just about everything there is to win as a top footballer and seems to get better year on year. He joined Manchester United in 2003 and remained there until 2009, making 194 appearances across all competitions. He scored 84 goals and lit up the Premier League as well as the Champions League. At times he was utterly prolific and seemingly unstoppable, with his pace and quick feet making him a nightmare for defenders. It was this flare and clear talent that attracted the attention of Real Madrid. Although United and their fans were sad to see him leave, Ronaldo left for Madrid in 2009 for a then record fee of £80 million. He had achieved all he could in Manchester and felt it was time to move onto bigger and better things, with Real's style of play completely suiting the winger. Ronaldo has been unstoppable for the Galacticos, scoring 177 goals in 165 games. This is an unbelievable record and highlights his prolific nature. He was the driving force behind Real's Champions League title win last season and added to his record in La Liga, he earned the coveted Ballon d'Or trophy in 2014, making him officially the best player on the planet. Although he had a successful spell in Manchester, and was grateful to the club and its fans, he has since gone on to achieve much greater things and is now regarded as an unstoppable force that seems to just get stronger and more clinical.
