Alan Pardew: 4 Moments Of Madness From Newcastle Boss

3. Alan v Officials

Back in August 2012 Newcastle were looking forward to a new campaign under Pardew, with the manager beginning his second full season at the club. Tottenham were the visitors to St James' Park on August 18th and Alan picked a unique way of venting his frustration at the officials. Most managers tend to give the fourth official an earful if they are unhappy with decisions during the game or wait for the referee to come off the pitch at half time. Alan preferred to be slightly more assertive on this occasion by pushing over assistant referee Peter Kirkup during his side's 2-1 win. Unhappy with a ball not being flagged out of play during a Spurs attack, Pardew saw red for his actions and was sent to the stands later calling his contribution 'ridiculous'. The Magpies boss ended up with a two game touchline ban and a fine for his petulance.
