Long before Italians were sliding on all fours at St James' Park, Pardew had Martin O'Neil to contend with as manager of Newcastle's fiercest rival, Sunderland. Local derbies are always emotionally charged occasions and Alan definitely found it difficult to keep his feelings in check during the clash in March 2012.
