Arsenal Transfer News: Thierry Henry Set For Third Spell?

Gunner's legend Thierry Henry could make third Arsenal debut next month.

The Mail Online. The Gunners are thought to be in advanced talks with the New York Red Bulls over a second loan-spell for the Frenchman, who first left the club for Barcelona in 2007. He returned to Arsenal in January this year after training with them during the MLS off-season, before making four appearances, scoring once in the FA Cup against Leeds. Then he was brought in as cover for the departing Gervinho and Chamakh, who were contesting the African Cup of Nations. This time, he could be required to fill the gaping hole left by Robin van Persie. Arsenal have stuttered in the Premier League this season, and in spite of a win over West Brom at the weekend, are seventh in the table, fifteen points off leaders Man United, whom van Persie joined this summer. A deal has been agreed between New York Red Bulls and Arsenal "in principal", though the two sides are said to be at odds as to the length of the loan spell. Arsene Wenger is believed to want Henry for the rest of the Premier League campaign, whilst Red Bulls are only willing to loan him until March, when the MLS resumes. If an agreement can be made, Henry could feature in Arsenal's FA Cup clash against Swansea on January 6.
