Arsenal Transfers: 10 Dream Signings Wenger Still Needs To Make

3. Calum Chambers

Southampton have an almost supernatural ability to produce top quality English players: the current wave started with Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Luke Shaw and now there's Calum Chambers. The latter broke through to the first team last year and was largely impressive as a right full back. Defensively he still has room to grow, his statistics would suggest that he isn't particularly strong in the air or hugely successful in the tackle, but offensively he has already looked the real deal. He is fast, agile, a good passer, crosser, dribbler and a tireless runner who enjoys to bomb his way up and down the flank - proving once more that the Saints academy are particularly good at producing a particular type of talent. He shows great strength where Carl Jenkinson has shown a tentativeness and inability to look threatening, and with Arsenal in need cover for the newly acquired Debuchy at right back, he could be that back up man. That would also free up Jenkinson to find the first team experience that he needs out on loan.
