Arsenal Transfers: 3 Reasons Why Alexis Sanchez Is Perfect For The Gunners

2. His Game Suits The Premier League

Felice Calabro'/AP/Press Association ImagesFelice Calabro'/AP/Press Association ImagesArsenal have been linked with numerous attacking options this summer, ranging from Antoine Griezmann to Pedro; while good players, none of Wenger€™s other targets seem to suit the Premier League as much as Alexis Sanchez. Strong, quick and powerful, Sanchez appears to be the perfect fit for English football, as unlike other lightweight wingers, his strength should enable him to adapt to the physical nature of the Premier League. Seeing how a player like Gervinho, who has thrived in Ligue 1 and Serie A, struggled in England shows just how hard it is to make the transition, and Griezmann and Pedro are similar to the Ivorian: small and mobile players who may have taken time to shine in the Premier League. Given Arsenal€™s desire to push on after their FA Cup triumph, it is perhaps wise that they are going for someone who appears ready to take England by storm. The club have spent too long waiting for players to develop and with £100 million in the bank, they are right to pursue talent that is ready-made. Interestingly enough, when Sanchez was on the verge of joining Barcelona back in 2011, his Udinese team-mate Antonio Di Natale told him to go to the Premier League as it suited his game more. It is advice that the Chile international appears to finally be taking onboard. Indeed, Juventus and AC Milan have also expressed an interest in Sanchez, but the 25-year-old seems to have his heart set on England€™s top division. A league which he should be a big success in.
