Arsenal Transfers: 3 Reasons Why Alexis Sanchez Is Perfect For The Gunners

1. He Is Entering The Prime Of His Career

Manu Fernandez/AP/Press Association ImagesManu Fernandez/AP/Press Association ImagesIt has already been mentioned about Arsene Wenger€™s willingness to put his trust in players who are still developing, in the hope they eventually fulfil their potential, but such a policy appears to be on the decline at Arsenal given the club€™s recent transfer activity. The summer of 2011 was perhaps the watershed moment, with the Gunners bringing in ready-made signings such as Per Mertesacker and Mikel Arteta. Not typical €˜Arsenal signings€™, but two players who went on to become a key part of the North London€™s side FA Cup winning team. By signing Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal would be continuing their new policy of buying players who are able to hit the ground running. The club are also thought to be close on a deal for Newcastle United€™s 28-year-old right back Mathieu Debuchy, another statement of intent after the Gunners had scouted Serge Aurier, who is seven years younger. In Sanchez, Arsenal would be acquiring a player who is entering the peak of his career. At 25 years of age, he has fully developed physically and improved the mental side of his game, and it is no coincidence that last year was Sanchez€™s true breakout season, with the attacker netting over 20 goals for the first time in his career. Prior to last season his best return had been 15, while he scored as many goals for Barca last year as he did in three seasons at Udinese, all of which points to the fact that Sanchez is now in the prime of his career and ready for the Premier League.
