5. Demba Ba
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger first went in for Demba Ba when he made a loan bid on this summer's transfer deadline day, but saw his move for the former Newcastle man
blocked by Jose Mourinho. Mourinho was concerned that the Gunners were becoming too strong, having earlier signed Mesut Ozil, and refused to lend them Ba as he considered them a serious title threat. But, having found himself very much on the fringes at Stamford Bridge this season - making just eight league appearances, six of them as a substitute - the Senegalese star could seek a move away this winter. And Wenger is now
lining up a £15 million January bid to tempt the Blues to sell up and cut their losses on Ba, who only moved to the west London club this year.
