Arsenal Transfers: 5 AVAILABLE Strikers Wenger Should Sign

1. Leandro Damiao

Leandro Damiao

Arsenal can't sit there and let cross-city rivals Tottenham Hotspur take Leandro Damiao without a fight. The Internacional hit man has been linked to White Hart Lane for what seems like a decade, but Andre Villas-Boas has so far failed to complete the transfer. Leandro is a very different breed of striker to the ones Brazil usually produce, and in a way he's an Olivier Giroud v2.0. He's big, quick, strong, good with his head and great with his feet€”it's rare to see such a complete player at such a young age. He scored a ton of goals in the lower Brazilian leagues, impressed in the Brasileiro Serie A and lead the line for Brazil under Mano Menezes. Whether he's in Luiz Felipe Scolari's plans is something we'll find out soon enough, but if he features heavily for the Selecao, expect the fee to keep rising. What's stopping the deal? Price. Simple as that. Arsene Wenger doesn't pay through the nose for his targets and Leandro won't come cheaply. Leandro is an upgrade on Giroud, but Wenger will probably opt to wait for his misfiring Frenchman to "come good". Follow @stighefootball
