2. Pepe Reina
Pepe Reina came very close to switching Anfield for Arsenal in 2010 when the Gunners came in with a £20 million offer, but the Liverpool hierarchy - Tom Hicks and George Gillett at the time - knocked back Wenger's advances. The reason's for the transfer setback have irked Reina for quite some time now. He was denied a move to Arsenal not because he was valued by Liverpool so, but because he was viewed as a crucial continued presence for the sale of the club to go through during the Fenway Sport's Group buyout. With the added emergence of young Australian shot-stopper Brad Jones at Anfield, time could soon be running out on Reina's career on Merseyside, and manager Arsene Wenger might be tempted to make a move for the man he wanted to replace Manuel Almunia back in 2010.
