Arsenal Transfers: 5 AVAILABLE World Class Goalkeepers To Replace Szczęsny

1. Iker Casillas

Cassilas Iker Casillas' career has been an imperious one. He has won all major club and national championship titles there is to win in world football, including the Spanish League and Cup, UEFA Champions League and Spanish Super Cup with Real Madrid as well as the European Championship and World Cup with Spain. He has been Real Madrid's number 1 goalkeeper ever since the 2001/02 season, and his manager Jose Mourinho made the headlines in late December when he elected to drop the keeper for the first time in a decade. Since then, Casillas' relationship with Mourinho, and perhaps more pointedly, his very future at Real Madrid has been thrown into uncertainty. Reports have suggested that the former Chelsea manager wanted Madrid to sign a second goalkeeper in the summer to provide competition for Casillas, but his request was declined. A rift has since opened between goalkeeper and manager, which goes back to last season when Mourinho stated that Spain's international players "were being protected by their friends in the national press". To this, Casillas reacted with: €œHere we say things to the face€. Things are clearly not well for Casillas at the Bernabeu at the moment, and he could be forced to leave his boyhood club if tensions are not resolved. A move then to the Premier League might await..?
