Arsenal Transfers: 5 Players Likely To Leave In August

1. Marouane Chamakh

Marouane Chamakh Signed on a free transfer from Bordeaux in 2010, Marouane Chamakh has never once looked like impressing for Arsenal. The Moroccan has scored only 14 times in 67 appearances for the Gunners and was flogged off on loan to West Ham for the second half of last season. And the 29-year-old is set for yet another season away from the Emirates with Crystal Palace set to give him a six month respite from his Arsenal misery by taking him on loan. If Chamakh somehow manages to impress, there is then the opportunity for that loan spell to be extended by a further six months until the end of the season and then, hopefully, permanently. Arsene Wenger took a gamble on the striker after signing him on a free transfer and it has come back to bite him on the nose. Happily, at least he didn't pay anything for him. After impressing in his final two seasons in Bordeaux by scoring 16 times in 2008-09 and 2009-10, unfortunately for Wenger, Chamakh is going to have to go down as yet another cheap and dubious French import who failed to impress in England. Which Arsenal flops do you think are most likely to leave this summer? Let us know in the comment section, below.
