4. Ashley Williams
Arsenal have also been chasing Swansea City's Ashley Williams this summer as Arsene Wenger
steps up his pursuit for a new centre-back. And the pre-season injury to Thomas Vermaelen has only served to increase the necessity for Wenger to bring in a new centre-half this summer, particularly as he hasn't had one of any real quality for far too long. It's time for the Frenchman to stop bringing in cheap knock-offs like the unfortunate Sébastien Squillaci and start by bringing in defenders who are the real deal. And Williams is precisely that. The 28-year-old was solid for Swansea last season as he marshalled the Welsh club to League Cup glory, and was one of the more outstanding centre-backs in the league. Williams
won 72% of his tackles last season and established himself as one of the Swan's more reliable of players, and could do a good job at the back for the Gunners next season.
