Arsenal Transfers: 6 Failed Deals Wenger Should Revive In Summer

6. Julian Draxler

The six-foot-one, 20-year old German midfielder is globally known for his bullish-strength and rapid pace, which have led to him being scouted by teams around the world, for years. Arsenal has shown interest in the German giant for a number of years, sending scouts to watch him play since his Bundesliga debut in 2011. Arsene Wenger would greatly benefit from Draxler's versatile playing style and ability to compliment other players. Draxler is a proven world-class winger, who has the ability and physical-prowess to double up as a striker, something Arsenal are in desperate need of. Arsenal and Schalke 04 were unable to agree on £37 million rated striker's price tag in the January transfer window; however Schalke has admitted that the they could see Draxler go in the summer if Arsenal were to make a 'big money move' and meet Schalke's evaluation. With Draxler in their line-up, Arsenal would be able to put forth a stronger and more direct attack than the current option of a solo striker. In addition the German's eye for goal may help them overcome their goal shyness; whilst his impeccable ball control and possessive footballing attitude would allow him to fit in perfectly with the Arsenal footballing style.
